04241920.jpg (36467 bytes) April 24, 1920 - Meeting of the official of the M.E. Church meeting called to order by Rev Ballew. The treas gave his monthly report which on motion was accepted and placed on file. The minutes of the former meeting were read and on motion approved with corrections. W G Long ask permission to connect to the old arsonage drain, on motion his request was granted. A committee consisting of Mrs. Shaver, Mrs. Welch and Mrs Woodard were appointed to solicit $1,400.00 to payoff the debt on the parsonage, on motion the committee was confirmed. The following bills were presented and on motion were allowed: Chas Watt $4.00; H E Fleshir Oleo $1.80; JJ Kemp Coal $183.48; J M Ralston $1.60. Total $190.88. Feb 28, 1921 - Regular Meeting of the official Board. Meeting called to order by Rev. Ballew. Minutes of the former meeting was read and approved. The Treasurer made the Reg-monthly report which on motion was accepted and placed on file. There being no other business, the meeting ajourned. Besy Bestels Sec.
April 25, 1921 - Regular meeting of the official board of the M.E. Church. Rev. Ballew called meeting to order. The Treasurer made his monthly report which on motion was accepted and placed on file. The following bill was presented and on motion was allowed. For sharpening lawn mower, J.M. Ralston $.50. Mrs. Edna Beasley ask to be reinstated in the church in full membership. On motion her request was granted. There being no other business, on motion the meeting ajourned. Besy Bestels Sec.

Sept 12, '21 - Meeting called to order by Rev Ballew. The following bills were presented and on motion were allowed. To Mr. L Messer for oiling street 14.75; To Book concern for envelops 4.50. On motion it was decided to print statements showing where the money came from and how it was spent for the running expences of the church. On motion the meeting ajourned. Besy Besterls Sec

The Treasurer read his report which on motion was approved. On motion the following officers were elected. B Bestels Sec; L H Hyne Treas; J A Arbogast benovelent treas. On motion the following ushers were elected B Bestels head usher; J A Arbogast; Guy Carnahan and H S Brown. The following bill was presented and on motion was allowed - City of Lex for water 32.12. Besy Bestels was on motion elected chairman of the soliciting com - with power to select her com. J M Ralston, W G Long - Mrs. Laura Cook were appointed. Repair committee for the church and

The following persons were appointed by the chairman of the soliciting committee and on motion were confirmed by the board. Wm Malcom, G Camahan; J M Bodkins; Mrs. Grace Johnson; M R Downey; J A Arbogast; Mrs Grace Woodard; Mrs. Alta Arnold; Mrs. Laura Cook; Dr. Welch; Mrs. Lizzie Welch; Katherine Mugill; Sarah Shaver; H C Ellis; J M Ralston. Oct 31, 1921 -Meeting of the Official board - Meeting called to order by Rev Zinser. Minutes of the last meeting were read and on motion were approved. The matter of a pulpit light was discussed and by concent was left to the repair comm - The matter of holding revival services was discussed and left open for the present without action. 11111921_1.jpg (58101 bytes) Nov 11, 1921 -Meeting of the official board - Rev Zinser called meeting to order. The Treas-made his report which on motion was accepted and placed on file. The pastor reported that no definate plans had yet been made concerning revival serveses. A communication from the area Sec was read and on motion it was decided to send a delegate to the area convention and pay the car fare for the trip. A motion was made and received(?) that a com-be appointed by the chair to purchase clothes hooks for the primary rooms, the motion was carried. The Chair appointed J M Ralston. A motion was made that the church refuse to loan the chairs for anything except for church.
Nov 11, 1921 (cont) - purposes - The motion was discused for some time when a motion was made to amend the motion to alow only the old chairs in the basement to be loaned. The motion as amended carried. - A motion was made that the motions in regard to loaning chairs be resinded, motion carried. On motion it was decided to leave the loaning of the chairs to the trustees. On motion the meeting ajourned. Besy Bestels Sec.
Dec 28, 1921 - Meeting of the official board - Rev Zinser called meeting to order. Minutes of former meeting were read and approved. The bills were presented and on motion were allowed. For hooks and nails $1.80; For Coal and lumber 139.70; for furnace pipe 2.95. On motion the pastor was instructed to appoint 2 delegates and 2 alternates to the Normal gtoop meetings. The pastor appointed J M Ralston & Mrs Alta Arnold as delegates and Guy Carnahan and Mrs Grace Johnson as alternates. The Treas gave is report which on motion was accepted and placed on file. Jan 1, 1922 - Reg meeting of the Official board. Meeting called to order by Rev Zinser. Minutes of last meeting read and approved with corrections. The Treas. gave his report which on motion was accepted and placed on file. A motion was made and duly seconded that the pastor investigate as to prices and purchase decission cards for the revival services. motion carried. March 1, 1922 - Reg Meeting of the official board. The treas gave his report which on motion was accepted. A bill for $2.00 for Chas Becks was presented and on motion was allowed. On motion the repair com. of the church was instructed to have the spouting on the parsonage repaired. There being no other business the meeting ajourned. B Bestels Sec.
April 2, 1922 - Meeting of the official board - meeting called to order by Rev Zinser. The names of Geo Johnson and Bruce Johnson were presented for membership into the church. On motion they were accepted. Meeting ajourned. B Bestels Sec.

April 9, 1922 - Special meeting called by the pastor. The name of Lillian V Barbee was presented for full membership into the church. On motion she was accepted. Ajourned. B Bestels.

April 16, 1922 - Special meeting called by pastor - The names of Ethyle M. Barbee and Maude Irene Peeden were presented for full membership into the church. On motion they were accepted. Meeting ajourned. B Bestels Sec.

May 24, 1922 - Regular Meeting of the official Board. Meeting called to order by Rev. Sinzer The matters of financing the church was discussed as was also the best method for raising the amount  to cover all expences for the balance of the year but without action by the Board. Meeting ajourned. Besy Bestels Sec.
July 5, 1922 - Regular Meeting of the official Board. Meeting called to order by Rev Zinser. The Treas made his monthly report which on motion was accepted and placed on file. A motion was made - Seconed that the chairman of the finance com appoint a com to solicit funds to cover the budget shortage. The motion carried. Besy Bestels. Sec.
Aug 2, 1922 - Reg Meeting of the O. B. of the M E Church. The minutes of the former meeting were read and on motion were approved. The Treas made his regular monthly report which on motion was accepted and placed on file. The treas of the finance coms made a report on amount still short for the present year which amount was $442.00. A meeting of the Board was set for Sunday afternoon Aug 13 at 2:30 to report for financing the church next year. Meeting ajourned. B Bestels. Sec.
Sept 17, 1922 - Reg Meeting of the Official Board of the M.E. Church. The Treas - gave his report which on motion was accepted. A Motion was made & Sec that the bugett consist of the yearly expences of the church and including the organ tuning and that all extra expences be met by subscription. Mr. Ralston requested that the book concern(?) be ask to stamp the date of the s s supplies on the out side of the wrapper, his request was granted and sec instructed to write the book concem(?) accordingly. Sept 27, 1922 - Reg meeting of the official board. The treasurer made his regular monthly report which on motion was accepted. This being the time for the election of officers for the ensuing year the following officers were on motion elected. H L Hyne Treasurer; Benjamin Bestels Secretary and Chairman of the finance committee. Short 239.03
Oct 25, 1922 - Regular Meeting of the Official board. Meeting called to order by Rev. Zinser. The minutes of the last meeting were read and on motion were approved. On motion the old ushers were reelected for another year Having omitted electing a Treasurer for the Benovelences at last meeting Mr. Herold Brown was on motion elected for that office by aclamation. Dec 6, 1922 - Official Board Meeting. Rev Zinser called the meeting to order. Minutes of the former meeting were read and on motion were approved. A bill for $6.00 for lumber was presented and on motion was allowed. There being no further business the meeting on motion was ajourned. B Bestels Sec.
Dec 26, 1922 - Reg meeting of the official Board. The meeting was called to order by Rev. Zinser. Rev Zinser reported that he sold some walnut lumber which belonged to the church for $15.00 to Prof Smith. The following names were presented by Rev. Zinser for full membership into the church. Dorothy & Doris Rockwell and  Nina Ralston. On motion they were accepted. There being no further business the meeting on motion ajourned. B Bestels Sec.
Jan 31, 1923 - Reg Meeting of the O B of the M E Church. Meeting called to order by Rev Zinser. Minutes of the last meeting were read and on motion were approved. The Treas made his report which on motion was accepted and placed on file. There being no other business the meeting on motion was ajourned. Besy Bestels Sec.
April 11, 1923 - Reg meeting of the official Board. Meeting was called to order by Rev Zinser. The Treas not being able to attend the meeting sent his report by the secretary which was read and on motion was accepted and placed on file. The question of decorating the walls of the church was brought up and on motion Mrs. Arnold and Dr. Magill were appointed a committee to consult with Mr. Peters (a decorator) and get an estamate of what the cost would be. There being no further business he meeting on motion ajourned. B Bestels Sec
April 15, 1923 - Called meeting of the official Board. Meeting called to order by Rev. Zinser. The committee that was appointed to consult with Mr. Peters as to the cost of decorating the walls of the church reported that the estimate cost would be $750.00 the church furnishing the scaffolding. On motion the secretary was instructed to correspond with other decorators and get estimates from them. The meeting ajourned. Besy Bestels Sec.
May 30, 1923 - Meeting of the Official Board. Minutes of last meeting were read and on motion approved. J M Ralston gave a report on repairing the church. The estimated cost of firing the tin roof was $25.00. P___ of new tin roof $153.00 and 40 ft of pipe to carry water $0.15 per foot on motion report was accepted. On motion a committee of 8 be appointed to solicit funds for repairing the roof and spouting - Plastering & __(?) Carried Long. Wilch Ralston were chosen committee. On motion 2.00 was voted for the ________(?) school. On motion meeting ajourned. B Bestels Sec.
Aug 29, 1923 - Official Board Meeting - Meeting called to order by Rev Zinser. On motion Mrs. Maurice Frity(?) and son Glen were recommended to full membership into the church.

At a called meeting of the board Ms. Laura Rickets was recommended into full membership into the church by unanamus vote.

The following officers were elected. Benj Bestels Sec. H L Hyne Treas. By consent of the board Rev Zinser was selected to look after the benovelences and act as treasurer for same. Benj Bestels was elected  chairman of the finance committee with power to select his helpers. On Motion the meeting ajourned. Benj Bestels Sec.

The following bill was presented and on motion was allowed by unanimous vote J J Kemp for Coal $4.61. H S Brown, W C Simon and Prof V T Smith were appointed as a committee of Father and Sons day. On motion Charlie Smith was recomended to full membership in the church. There being no other business the meeting ajourned. Benj Bestels Sec.

On motion Mr. Burl Hefner was recomended for full membership in the church. On motion Mrs. Frank Zoak was recomended for full membership in the church. Feb 3, 1924 - Called meeting - At this meeting the names of Gilbert Elson and daughter were presented for full membership in the church and on motion they were accepted.

The name of Mrs. Austin Claggett was presented for full membership into the church and on motion was accepted. The matter of getting estimates on decorating the church was left in the hands of Mr. J M Ralston.

At a former meeting held Feb 20 - the following names were presented for full membership into the church and on motion were accepted. Mr S A finley - Elizabeth Smith - Fern Swartz and Helen Grubbs. Benj Bestels Sec.

03251924.jpg (20752 bytes)March 25, 1924 - Meeting called to order by Rev. Zinser. The committee on decorating the church reported that they received a bid from Whiteman Bros for $447.50. The committee was retained with power to act. There being no farther business the meeting ajourned. Benj Bestels Sec.
August 10, 1924 - Special Meeting of the O.B. Meeting called to order by Rev. Zinser. This meeting was called for the purpose of electing delegates to the M. E. comfention(?) at Normal and two trustees for the Brokah hospital. Bro Hamp Budkins was elected delegate to the convention and Sister Alta Arnold alternate. Bros W H Welch and Bro M R Downey were elected Trustees for the Hospital. There being no other business the meeting ajourned. Benj Bestels Sec.
Sept 3, 1924 - Meeting of Official Board. Meeting called to order by Rev. Zinser. The Treas - not being present the chairman of the finance com.gave the following partial report. Amount received by Treas $2341.77 Balance on hand $228.25 On Subscription and not yet paid $498.75 Unpaid bills $853.00. Unprovided for $126.00. Church decorating gave the following. Amount recevied 702.50 Disbursements - Moore Foster Decorater 600.00 Lumber - Cement - etc. 38.06 Hinnus Argan Co(?) 18.75 Hymnals rebound 34.00 Balance 11.69 Total 702.50 Mrs. Alta W Arnold, Mrs Garce Johnson, Mrs. Sarah Shaver, Mrs. Lizzie Welch, Dr. L.M. Sept 24, 1924 - Meeting of the Official Board. Meeting called to order by Rev. Zinser. Minutes of the last meeting were read and there being no corrections were approved. Chairman of the finance com -made a report showing 100.00 on subscription which had not been paid leaving a deficite of $128.00 for the year. The following Officers were then elected for the ensuing year. L H Hine Treas B Bestels Sec B Bestels Chairman of the finance com with power to select his com. Meeting ajourned. B Bestels Sec.
Jan 7, 1925 - Meeting of the Official Board. Meeting called to order by Rev. Zinser. Minutes of last meeting were read and on motion were approved. The Treas beng absent the pstor made a partial report of the finances which showed a deficit of $266.67. On motion a bill for $1.00 was alowed to J H Bodkin for material used in repairing the roof of the church. On Motion the meeting ajourned. Benj Bestels Sec.
Feb 25, 1925 - Meeting of Official Board - Meeting called to order by Rev. Zinser. Evan Barnard and Ed Mitchel were recommended to full membership in the church and on motion were unanimously elected. The question of revival serveses was discussed at some length but without any action taken by the Board. Meeting ajourned. Benj Bestels Sec.
August 25, 1925 - Meeting of the Official Board - Meeting called to order by Rev. Zinser - H L Hyne Treas - leaving the city for several months The pastor called an election to fill the unexpired tearm - Nominations being in order Miss Mildred Ralston & Besy Bestels were nominated - on motion nominations were closed - Election by ballot Besy Bestels was declared elected. October 12, 1925 - Meeting of the Official Board - Meeting called to order by Rev. McFall and opened by prayer. On Roll call the following persons we present - J M Ralston - Mrs. Cholie Arnold - Mrs Anna Patton - Jno Shaver - Mrs. Sarah Shaver - Mr M R Downey - Chas Watt - Jas Arbogast - Dr Welch - Mrs Lizzie Welch - W A McAulley - Dr Magill - Mrs Magill - Special prayer was offered by Rev. McFall for Bro L H Smith & family in their hours of sorrow and bereavment.
October 12, 1925 (cont.) - Bills - $50.00 Mooving expences for the Pastor. On motion the bill was allowed. Mooved and seconded, that a com of 3 be appointed to rectify the church records. The motion prevailed - J M Ralston - Mrs. Alts Arnold and Benj Bestels were appointed. On motion it was decided to write a history of the church and the following committee of 5 were elected - Wm Stickler - Mr Downey - Mrs. Alta Arnold - Mrs. Sarah Shaver and J M Ralston. On motion the Pastor was instructed to purchase a new church record. Election of Officers. On motion the following persons.
October 12, 1925 (cont.) - to respective offices. - Mrs. Alta Arnold Sec - Benj Bestels Treas and Chairman of the finance committee - Mldred Ralston Benevolent Treas - Usshers: Herold Brown - Evyn Barnard - Guy Carnahan - Glen Watt - There being no further business the meeting ajourned.
